Interesting dates in Paris

In every season there is lots to experience and to do in Paris. Independent of the year of the month; it’s always the right time for a romantic visit to Paris. In Paris, every day you will find parties, interesting lectures or openings of new buildings. Often the city offers little festivals, but occasionally there are happenings all over the city.   • 4th of January – Fête des Rois
    The party of the kings is celebrated by many of Parisians. The city is full of royal cakes, the ‘galettes de rois’. These cakes are sold after Christmas. Enjoy, but be careful! In one of the royal cakes is a little porcelain statue hidden. When you find this little porcelain statue, you are the king of the city and may wear the symbolic crown.
  • 26th of January – Chinese New Year
    The Chinese inhabitants of Paris celebrate their New Year at this day. If you would like to experience this colorful parade: take the subway to Place d’Italie.
  • End of February – Carnaval in Paris
    Every year at the end of the month February or the beginning of the month March Parisians celebrate the big carnavalfest. Symbolic for the carnaval-party is a huge red cow which you will see around when you’re in Paris during this event. Streets where you can party during carnaval are for example the rue Belgrand, the rue de Faubourg du Temple and the rue de la Coutellerie.
  • Start of April- Marathon
    Every year in the month of April there is a huge marathon been run. About 35000 active sporters start running at 9 in the morning for 42 kilometer.
  • May – Saint-Fermain-des-prés Jazz Festival
    Chill in May and listen to the relaxing jazz and blues sounds you will hear all over Paris. Both (electro)jazz, blues and gospel music is played at this Jazz Festival. Everyone loves it.
  • Start of December – Salon de nautique
    This huge event is located in the Port de Versailles. Enjoy the view at all types of boats in all sizes. You won’t believe your eyes! There are also plenty of other activities in which you can participate and there is delicious fresh fish sold.
